This poster is designed for health care providers. It reminds them consistently to ask their patients and clients about whether or not they smoke tobacco. It urges providers to be respectful of traditional tobacco that is used by Native Americans or Alaska Natives for ceremonial or medicinal purposes. If a patient acknowledges smoking commercial tobacco, then the provider is urged to advise the patient to consider quitting for improved health. If the patient is interested in quitting, the provider is urged to refer the patient to a free quitting service. Includes the California Smokers’ Helpline and National Quitline information. This version of the poster shows a provider talking with an American Indian woman.
