This fact card features a deep-red image of a hookah in swirling smoke. It dispels common myths about hookahs being safer to smoke than traditional cigarettes. Some of the facts about hookah use: hookah smoke contains four times more nicotine than cigarette smoke; the charcoal used in hookah pipes adds even more carbon monoxide to the tobacco; water pipe bubbles do not filter out harmful chemicals; sharing mouthpieces can lead to the transmission of communicable diseases; and addiction to nicotine, among other risks.
